The second Cross-Straits Ship Administration Culture seminar will be held from Sep. 16 to Sep. 18.
The seminar is jointly held by the Chinese Mainland and Taiwan province and is defined as the first key exchange program for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.
The academic seminar was co-designed and organized by the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League, Fujian Provincial Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League, Fujian Provincial CPPCC, Fujian Research Institute of Culture and History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Mawei District Government. The first seminar was held in Fuzhou last October. Its theme was: Fuzhou ship administration and the Chinese modern navy. The unique position of the Fuzhou ship administration in Chinese modern naval history was studied and discussed by Taiwan navy officers, renowned scholars from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, PLA Academy of Military Science, Chinese Military History Museum, Taiwan “Academia Sinica” and offspring of famous naval officers on both sides of the Taiwan Strait
The first seminar aroused interest across the Straits. The media published more than 400 reports on this seminar. The theme of the second Cross-Straits Ship Administration Culture seminar is: Fuzhou ship administration and Xinhai Revolution. It is the first academic meeting that focuses on comprehensively studying, discussing and presenting the unique role and position of Fuzhou ship administration during the 1911 Revolution (Xinhai Revolution).
