The Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) has launched a comprehensive service platform that shortens the approval period for a business application to only three days in contrast with more than a dozen days before, Fujian Daily reported on March 26 Thursday.
“It is so fast that I obtained my business license three days after the application,” said Wu Jianping, owner of a trading company in Xiamen.
The improved efficiency is due to cooperation between different government authorities who have begun to jointly accept applications, according to an official with the provincial commerce bureau.
He went on to explain that the applicant can now fill out an online application that contains all information required by multiple departments, including the industrial and commercial bureau, the quality supervision bureau and the taxation bureau. The approval results by those different authorities will be collected by an information sharing system, which saves a great deal of time.
The new business license now combines three certificates for business, organization code and tax registration, which were previously separate, for the convenience of enterprises proceeding with business affairs.
Nearly 80 enterprises in Xiamen city, one of the three FTZs in Fujian, have obtained the all-in-one business licenses through the platform, he said.
Overall plans for three FTZs in Guangdong, Tianjin and Fujian were approved Tuesday at a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, meaning they move a step closer to inauguration.
